Nurse Manager, Medical Specialties Ambulatory Clinics, Rheumatology, Pulmonary, Infectious Disease and Endocrinology


The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the clinical staff  and ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently for our multiple medical specialties clinics referred to as 5C. Our managers are required to have a BSN, Masters preferred.  Strong interpersonal skills with a large multi-disciplinary staff is required. Qualified candidates will have experience in ambulatory care, management in a health care field and be able to advocate for the professional develop of the nursing staff. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the operations and efficiencies for the clinics.

 

Position Summary:

Administers an assigned nursing program or organizational unit with responsibility for planning, selecting, and/or devising the methods and policies/procedures to be used and for directing nursing supervisors and/or other personnel in the accomplishment of designated goals. Negotiates interdepartmental resources, communicates and plans with managers of staff in other departments to ensure effective level of service to the unit/program

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Plans adequate staffing and adjustments based on patient needs and staff skill mix.
  2. Evaluates performance of staff members, including coaching and performance management processes.
  3. Manages the hiring process.
  4. Maintains and supports evidence based practices in the clinical area. Assures compliance with national standards and initiatives, e.g., National Patient Safety Goals and The Joint Commission. Promotes individual/peer and departmental accountability to the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Goals.
  5. Develops the budget for personnel and non-personnel expenses. Makes unit based decisions to promote stewardship of resources. Encourages and supports process improvements which promote fiscal responsibility.
  6. Assumes responsibility for patient flow processes. Strategizes to improve efficiency and eliminate barriers that impact patient and family centered care.

Performs other duties as required or assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) with 2 years of clinical experience and demonstrated leadership ability required.
  • Masters of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred. 
    • Certification in a specialty preferred.
       

Required Licensure/Certification Skills:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in New Hampshire required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required.
