Nurse Manager , Pain and Spine Clinic - (Paid Relocation to New Hampshire)

**Relocation to New Hampshire is required for this position. Paid relocation packages are available for out of state candidates.**

NURSE MANAGER PAIN AND SPINE CLINIC

Nurse Managers oversee all operations, staffing, scheduling and professional development within the outpatient clinic. This clinic is dedicated to providing the safest and most compassionate care to our patients in chronic pain. Qualified candidates will have their BSN (Masters preferred) and have 5 years of progressive healthcare experience with managing a team of interdisciplinary staff. The nurse manager must be comfortable and confident with difficult conversations regarding practice and performance, the nurse manager is the coach and mentor to the staff and responsible for communications involving organizational initiatives and policy. Nurse Managers spearhead clinic efficiencies and work as a team with the Practice Manager to ensure Joint Commission compliance.




Purpose:

Plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates the operational, fiscal and personnel activities to ensure the provision of high quality, safe patient/family centered care within Perioperative/Procedural areas. Advocates for and allocates available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe and compassionate nursing care within the procedural space.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1.     Manages the hiring process to meet anticipated staffing needs.

2.     Plans adequate staffing and adjustments in alignment with procedural volume, patient acuity and clinical needs. 

3.     Evaluates and manages the performance of staff members, to include coaching and the performance management processes.

4.     Works collaboratively with business and administrative leadership.

5.     Identifies opportunities for best practices and continued improvement and oversees implementation of such practices. 

6.     Responsible for operationalizing best practices in team care coordination.

7.     Proactively accesses safety risks and promotes and models a culture of safety. 

8.     Manages staff and processes to achieve outcomes and organizational goals in regard to clinical quality, patient safety, and patient experience.

9.     Manages to operational budget for clinical nursing activities.

10. Ensures that unit facilities and equipment meet necessary standard and monitors utilization of equipment.

11. Develops a plan to ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment of care for patients, visitors, and staff.

12. Ensures adherence to quality and regulatory management directives, including TJC, CMS, OSHA, HCAHPS, CORE Measures, etc. Assures that evidenced based practice and nursing practice standards are achieved in the clinical area.

13. Facilitates the procurement of appropriate supplies/equipment and provides for adequate numbers and mix of staff to deliver nursing care.

14. Facilitates the work of the Professional Nursing Organization, including facilitating the Practice Area Council.  Coaches clinical nurses in professional development and engagement in the Program for Advancing Clinical Excellence (PACE) credentialing program.

15. Assumes accountability for maintaining a safe work environment in alignment with Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s commitment to employee safety and regulatory requirements including but not limited to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and applicable state and federal law.

16. Supports and/or participates in clinical research programs in collaboration with the interprofessional team.

17. Performs other duties as required or assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

ü Graduatefrom an accredited Nursing Program required.

ü  Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing(BSN) is required.

ü  Master’s degree strongly preferred.

ü  Supervisory and/or management experiencerequired. 

ü  5 years of progressive responsibilitywithin an acute care setting required.

ü  Must obtain and maintain clinicalcompetencies within assigned unit. 

 

Required Licensure/Certification Skills:

ü  Licensed Registered Nurse in NewHampshire required. 

acl ACLS is required

 B  Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate requiredupon hire and as applicable, higher level per unit certification requirementsas stated on the grid attached to the AHA and Life Support Policy.
